Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has undergone surgery after suffering a fractured ankle during Saturday's 4-0 win over Manchester City, the Premier League club announced.
The 28-year-old Italian international completed the full 90 minutes of the away match. The Spurs said Monday that he suffered the injury during the game.
“We can confirm that Guglielmo Vicario underwent surgery today for a fracture in his right ankle,” they wrote in a statement published in X.
“Guglielmo will be evaluated by our medical staff to determine when he can return to training. We are all behind you, Vic.”
The north London team, sixth in the Premier League with 19 points, will host Roma in the Europa League on Thursday.
