The Tennessee Titans saw quarterback Will Levis make another bad decision that led to a turnover, and head coach Brian Callahan didn't hold back when expressing his thoughts on his quarterback's play in a loss to the New York Jets on Sunday.
On third-and-goal from the Jets' seven-yard line in the second quarter, Levis dropped back to pass and couldn't find anyone in the end zone to extend the team's lead to 7-0.
So Levis decided it was time to scramble with the pocket collapsing, but after trying to jump over the linemen in front of him, he was about to fall to the turf for a sack.

Instead of simply accepting the sack and allowing his kicker to score a short field goal, Levis threw the ball back to his running back, Tyjae Spears. However, Spears couldn't control the ball at his feet and the Jets recovered it for a huge turnover.
Callahan made his feelings clear right away, as he was seen on camera yelling at Levis and seemingly saying, “What the hell are you doing?” He attacked Levis, who stood there nodding before walking away toward the sideline.
After the game, Callahan was asked how he felt and he knew he'd seen it before, but he continued to criticize his quarterback, something that doesn't often happen with NFL head coaches.
TITANS' WILL LEVIS FACES RIDICULE AFTER UNEXPLAINED POWER LOSS FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE WEEK
“I think the camera caught it pretty clearly, if I had to guess. So yeah, I was upset,” Callahan told reporters after the game. “It was dumb. It was exactly the same thing he did last week and it cost us points in the red zone. That's what it is.”
“He's grown up and knows more, so I was very irritated that he cost us three points in a game we probably needed.”
While NFL fans may be surprised to hear words like that from Callahan, he was the same way last week when Levis virtually blew the game on a similar play.
Instead of simply taking a sack, Levis attempted to throw a ball out of bounds, but it ended up being a touchdown for the Chicago Bears. Chicago would go on to win the game 24-17, despite not scoring an offensive touchdown.
Quarterbacks have struggled to start the 2024 season across the league, but Levis has already thrown three interceptions and two touchdowns.
In his career so far, Levis has a 3-8 record as a starter with a 59.4% completion percentage and 10 touchdowns against seven interceptions. And 10 of those touchdowns came in his debut last season as a rookie.

It takes time for young players to get acclimated to the NFL, especially at the quarterback position. But it appears Callahan, in his first season as the Titans' head coach, isn't going to hold anything back from his quarterback.
