Las Vegas Raiders The owner Mark Davis hired Jon Gruden as chief coach in 2018, locking him with a massive 10 -year contract with the confidence that bringing Gruden back would bring stability and success to the organization.

In statements to the media on Monday, Davis praised the additions of the new chief coach Pete Carroll and the new general manager John Spytek. However, he also praised the new “infrastructure” of the team, which includes Tom Brady as owner of a minority.
“Bring Tom Brady I was bringing someone who was on the football side that I needed to have here in the organization, “Davis said.
“In 2018 with Jon Gruden, he was someone who brought and really hoped to be that person on the football side that would bring stability to the organization. He had a 10 -year contract and all that, and his head was cut off.”
The former NFL coach Jon Gruden Rips State of College Sports
Gruden, who is currently demanding from the NFL, resigned after the filtered electronic emails sent by the former chief coach included racist, misogynist and homophobic comments addressed to the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and the executive director of the Association of Players of The NFL, Demourice Smith, among others.
Davis said Gruden's resignation in 2021 triggered a series of ball losses in the organization.
“They put us in a really bad position as an organization. And we tried to do it well with Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler, that did not work. Antonio Pierce received interim work and I think that the work he did as an interim coach justified him by winning the job as Raiders chief coach … we felt it was time for a change. ”

Davis said Monday that he believes that Brady fills the void left by Gruden and that the new staff brought will have the lasting effect in 2018.
“We want to build something here. That has been the process and mentality all the time. As I said, that was compensated or exploded when Jon Gruden was sent at a distance. So, we have been trying to do it well since then. We'll see, but I have patience to do it well. ”
