The best typhos of the Premier League opening weekend

The Premier League returned to life this weekend, and in the midst of premature hustle and bustle inside the stadiums there were several tifs and impressive banners in the stands.

A basic element of European football and MLS for many years, there were several typho, essentially a huge banner displayed in the stands that is often complemented with pieces of piring and/or dynamics in motion, on display around the highest English category as the 2025-26 campaign began.

While it remains to be seen if the typhos become a regular element in the premier league land, it was undoubtedly impressive to witness some of the lengths at which fans had gone to inspire and motivate their teams.

Wolves started things with a moving tribute to the late Diogo Jota, who spent three seasons in Molineux before joining Liverpool in 2020. The giant image of the striker celebrating one of the 44 goals he scored for the club was accompanied by a letter of “Fields of Gold” for the effect of golden serum created by fans behind the banner.

Aston Villa has created a kind of typhus culture in Villa Park in recent times, with the followers of the club that build large -scale banners on several occasions last season ahead of their UEFA Champions League ties. With European football once again at the time of this term, Villa fans prepared for Saturday 0-0 draw with Newcastle United with a great greeting to Chief Unai Emery using the same words pronounced by their Spanish coach by signing a new contract with the club last year.

Back in the great moment for the first time since 2016-17, Sunderland came out everything to create an exciting atmosphere of the day at the Light Stadium for its inaugural match against West Ham United. The festivities included a large (and bloody) representation of Saint George killing the dragon, which obviously provided the impetus required to stimulate the team an impressive 3-0 victory.

Chelsea fans kept pleasant and simple things in Stamford Bridge by unrolling a banner to remember the opponents of Crystal Palace who faced the “world champions” after the triumph of the blues in the FIFA Club World Cup during the summer. Palace, same carriers of the FA Cup, faced the challenge and secured a 0-0 draw in the London derby.

Nottingham Forest announced new signings James Mcatee and Omari Hutchinson in front of fans in the city of the city before the 3-1 victory on Sunday over Brentford, before a mass banner with an appointment of the XIX conservationist, John Muir, “and in the forest I go (to lose my mind and find my soul)” It extended through the entire traffic of the trent.
