Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says he is still waiting to find out the extent of the injuries sustained by Marcus Rashford and Antony against Real Betis.
Both players were forced off during the second half of United's 3-2 win in San Diego on Wednesday and are doubtful for the final game of the US tour against Liverpool in South Carolina on Saturday.
Ten Hag is already dealing with injury problems with Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund ruled out for the start of the Premier League season.
At a news conference at UCLA on Thursday, Ten Hag said: “We have to wait. Of course, we're not taking any risks in the last game of the tour in view of the season that starts next week. We're entering an important game and there are still 24 hours to go before it's played.”
“We have to make the final assessment and we will see if they are ready for the game against Liverpool on Saturday.”
United are looking to strengthen their squad this summer, particularly by adding another centre-back, a full-back and a central midfielder.
Sources have told ESPN that the club need to raise money through exits to fund further transfer business and Ten Hag accepted he may have to wait before making further signings.
“Every club has its own limitations,” Ten Hag said.
“The FFP rules apply to all clubs. We have to manage them as best as possible and recruit the best possible squad.”
Ten Hag also revealed that Alejandro Garnacho and Lisandro Martinez will return to training at Carrington and could play against Manchester City in the Community Shield next week.
“We have a plan for each individual when they have to come forward,” said the Dutchman.
“The plan is already in motion. Alejandro Garnacho returns tomorrow” [Friday] “To start training, Licha will start on Monday. There is a plan for each player.”
