Tarris Bouie gives Alabama Hoops 2nd Top-50 Compics

The 35 Top 35, Tarris Bouie wing announced its commitment to Alabama on Wednesday, giving the crimson tide its second recruit among the top 50 of the week.

Bouie's commitment occurs only two days after Chris Washington Jr. chose Alabama. Both players visited Tuscaloosa last weekend and did not wait much to commit to Nate Oats and The Crimson Tide after returning home.

“Avena coach recruited me hard, and I really like his style of play,” Bouie told ESPN. “During the summer, I remember that I was in almost all my games. I really like his style of play, I look good. That was great for me. They play fast, and on the open court they shoot 3 and attack the basket.”

Bouie built a strong connection with oats and assistant coach Preston Murphy, whom Oats has previously called the “best recruiter in the country.”

“I have a very good relationship with the coach's oatmeal, and we often speak, and that was the big difference,” he said. “He is a genuine guy. I also have a solid relationship with the assistant coach Preston Murphy.”

Bouie, player number 33 at ESPN 100, had cut his list to Alabama, Cincinnati, Georgetown, Marquette, Mississippi State, NC State, Ole Miss and Texas last month, but ended up doing only Alabama's trip before deciding.
