Super Bowl champion suggests Travis Kelce isn't fully focused on football after quiet recent game

Travis Kelce had little effect on the Kansas City Chiefs' offense on Sunday during the team's 22-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

It took Kelce two full quarters to catch a pass. He finished with four receptions on five attempts for 30 yards, but failed to find the end zone in the first three games of the season.

Two-time Super Bowl champion and current NBC analyst Rodney Harrison made a tough admission about Kelce.

“He's very busy, he's got a lot going on,” Harrison said. “Think about it, he's doing a lot of different things in relation to the media, he's playing football, he's got other things to do. It's a lot of things to do. But when you're in that situation, you have to focus on everything else, and you have to focus 100% on football and that's the main responsibility.

“Players are making plays on him. Jessie Bates did a great job on him tonight. He just doesn't have the same speed. He's still a good player. I don't think he's a great player.”

Kelce's attitude outside the concert caused concern among Taylor Swift fans.

Patrick Mahomes commented that Kelce was seemingly absent from the game plan.

“The respect they have for Travis is just unbelievable,” he said of other teams. “It's well-deserved, but we're calling a lot of plays for Travis, and it's like two or three people are going after him. So, I mean, he understands. I think that's what's great about him, he wants to have an impact on the game, but he wants to win at the end of the day.

“I'm going to try to do the best I can to keep passing him the ball whenever he's there, whenever he's free. But I think the more Rashee [Rice] makes plays, the more we can run the ball, the more we can get done. [Xavier] “Worthy's involvement is going to open the door for Travis even more. People are putting a lot of emphasis on trying to take his spot and that's opening the door for other players.”

The 34-year-old tight end has been targeted by quarterbacks just 12 times through the first three games. That's the second-most on the team, as Rashee Rice has had 29 quarterback hits. Kelce has eight receptions for 69 yards.
