A winter storm in Western New York threatens strong wind gusts and the possibility of heavy snow for Sunday's Wild Card game between the buffalo bills and Pittsburgh Steelers, prompting the Bills to ask for additional hands in preparation.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo issued a Winter storm warning It will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and is expected to last until Monday morning.
As of the latest update Friday night, total snow accumulations are estimated to reach between one and three feet in some areas with possible “snowstorm conditions” impacting the region between Saturday night and Sunday.

Wind gusts could peak at 65 mph Saturday night. Travel conditions are expected to be “very difficult or impossible at times” with poor visibility due to “spreading snow everywhere.”
The Bills will host the steelmakers at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park in the middle of this. While no stranger to playing in these types of conditions, Bills head coach Sean McDermott said the team is still preparing as best it can.

On Friday, the Bills asked the public for help to make sure Highmark is ready for kickoff at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
“Shovelers can shovel snow throughout Saturday night into Sunday morning if necessary. Pay rate is $20 per hour. Complimentary food and breaks will be provided during shifts in a comfortable, warm area,” reads a message on the team's website.

In Kansas City, the Chiefs will host the Miami Dolphins Saturday night in a game expected to be one of the coldest in NFL playoff history. Forecasters predict sub-zero temperatures, with a low of -5 degrees during the game.
