Sports radio legend Chris “Mad Dog” Russo doesn't typically wade into politics on air, but during a podcast appearance, he made his opinions on former President Donald Trump known.
Russo joined the “Sports Illustrated Media Podcast” with Jimmy Traina, where the show host was asked about talking about sports during an election year.
During the question, Traina referred to Trump as “an animal,” to which Russo began to criticize the Republican presidential candidate, mainly for how he treats the current president, Joe Biden.

“What is he doing?” Russo said of Trump, via Awful Announcing. “Biden announces he's going to leave, he's going to retire. And he kills him? Say what you want about him… but [Biden] “He gave his life for the United States from 1972 onwards. He also had tragedy in his life with his wife and son, who died in that car accident… I think his heart, whether you like his politics or not, is generally in the right place. I think he cares.”
Russo went on to speak out about Trump's actions after Biden dropped out of the presidential race.
TRUMP 'EXCITED' BY HARRIS' CHOICE OF 'VERY LIBERAL' TIM WALZ AS RULING MATE: 'A SHOCK'
“The fact that [Trump] “We can't just let him walk away and have his day,” Russo said. “Even Biden, when Trump was shot, said, 'I'm going to call him,' and he called him by his first name.
“Even Biden has to rise above controversy sometimes. It really bothered me. Don, can you let the man off the hook for 24 hours, six months before the election? And not attack him… that really bothered me.”
Shortly after Biden announced he was dropping out of the presidential race on July 21, Trump spoke to Fox News Digital's Brooke Singman and called him “the worst president in the history of our country.”
“He's not fit to serve,” Trump continued. “And I ask: Who's going to run the country for the next five months?”
Trump most recently said Biden had the “right to run” for re-election, although the Democratic Party “took that away” from him during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago.
“I'm not a fan of his, as you've probably noticed, and he had a tough debate, but that doesn't mean he can just take it away from him,” Trump said.
