Miami Gardens, Fla. – The open receiver of the Miami Dolphins, Tyreek Hill, was taken off the field on Monday night with what the team fears is a dislocated left knee, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Hill was being taken to a local hospital for an additional evaluation to confirm the diagnosis, which would be the final of the season.
The lesion occurred at the beginning of the third quarter against the New York Jets, when Hill caught a 10 -yard pass from the Tua Tagovaila field to convert a third down. His left leg was twisted under him when he was approached outside the limits.
The car entered the field immediately and an air plaster was placed in Hill's leg. He smiled and greeted the crowd when the car was expelled.
The main receiver of the Dolphins, Hill has lost only one game in its four seasons in Miami, in 2023. It was a strong start on Monday night with 67 reception yards in six trapped.
If Hill, 31, is out for the season, Jaylen Waddle becomes the Dolphins de facto receiver No. 1, but the team would need someone to enter Waddle's old role. The second year receiver, Malik Washington, would be the main candidate, and Miami also signed Nick Westbrok -ikine this low season.
Dolphins could also use non -broad for production in air game. The closed wing Darren Waller made his debut in the season on Monday and caught two TouchDown passes, and the corridor of'von Achane leads all NFL runners at receptions and reception yards since the beginning of last season.
Hill has 11,363 reception yards since he entered the NFL in 2017, the largest amount of the league during that period. It also has 819 trapped, fourth more in the League since 2017 only for only Davante Adams (886), Travis Kelce (880) and Stefon Diggs (824). Hill's 83 Touchdown trapped are the third in the NFL since 2017. Adams has 102 trapped TD, and Mike Evans has 91.
