Chicago Sky point guard Chennedy Carter is once again at the center of controversy.
In the first quarter of the Sky's game against the Connecticut Sun on Aug. 23, Carter was called for a flagrant foul after coming into contact with former teammate Marina Mabrey. Carter was playing post defense when Mabrey collided with the 25-year-old Sky star.
Carter then punched Marbery in the arm and also appeared to hit her in the face in an apparent effort to block the shot.

Marbery remained on the ground with her hands over her face for several minutes after the play. Training staff attended to Mabrey, who was in visible pain and lying face up on the court.
The referees reviewed the play and classified the foul as flagrant 1.
At one point this season, Mabrey appeared to grow unhappy with his situation in Chicago and the franchise granted his trade request in July.
Earlier in the day, a video on social media appeared to show many of Mabery's former teammates giving her the cold shoulder during a pregame shootaround.
Some observers suggested the awkward exchange pointed to an underlying dispute, particularly between Carter and Mabery.

Mabrey also appeared to mock his former team in July, possibly adding to the intensity heading into Friday's game.
“[I’m excited to] “Being on a championship team or someone that can compete for a championship… That's going to be something I'm not used to. I've never been in an environment like that, so I'm excited,” Mabrey told a reporter during the WNBA All-Star weekend last month.
Charter has already committed four flagrant fouls this season.
Carter also made headlines in early June when she was assessed a flagrant 1 foul for a hard foul on Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark.
Carter scored a basket at the end of the third quarter. He then switched to defense and began guarding Clark, who was trying to get free to receive the inbound pass.
But Clark never touched the ball as Carter delivered a shoulder blow that sent the Fever star to the ground. The referees initially called a common foul on Carter, but the WNBA reviewed the play and upgraded it to a flagrant violation 1.
Clark then headed to the free throw line. He spoke to ESPN after the quarter ended and said the sequence of events was part of basketball.
“Yeah, that's not a basketball play,” Clark said. “But, you know, I have to play with it, that's what basketball is about at this level. I think we've been very physical, we've missed some shots around the rim, so hopefully those shots go into the fourth.”
