Simone Biles will overcome her calf injury and compete in all four events of the Olympic team final

Simone Biles will compete in all four events of the team all-around finals at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday night despite suffering an apparent calf injury during the qualifying round.

Biles hobbled off the floor after apparently injuring her calf during warmups. She managed to overcome the injury and score points in the final three events of the round. Coaches taped her left foot before she competed on floor, vault and uneven bars.

U.S. coach Cecile Landi offered some good news about Biles' injury. She said the injury was minor and there were no plans to keep her out of the Olympics.

“I can't express it,” Landi said. “I'm so proud of her, what she's been through and what she's showing the world what she's capable of.”

Biles will take last place on vault, floor exercise and balance beam for the United States. She will be second on uneven bars.

Jordan Chiles, who finished fourth in the all-around during qualifying behind Biles, Brazil's Rebeca Andrade and Suni Lee, will also compete in all four events.

Biles is one of the most decorated American Olympians of all time. Her struggles with twisted vertebrae at the Tokyo Olympics sparked a broader debate about mental health as she missed some key events.
