Scheffler was handcuffed after “a misunderstanding with the flow of traffic led him to try to pass a police officer toward Valhalla Golf Club,” ESPN's Jeff Darlington wrote on X.

“The police officer attempted to join Scheffler's car, and Scheffler stopped his vehicle at the entrance to Valhalla,” Darlington added. “The police officer began yelling at Scheffler to get out of the car. When Scheffler exited the vehicle, the officer pushed Scheffler against the car and immediately handcuffed him. He is now detained in the back of a police car.”

Representatives for Scheffler did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

ESPN's “SportsCenter” caught Scheffler being bundled into a police car.
