Russian tennis prodigy Mirra Andreeva was the talk of the Australian Open when she reached the fourth round of the season's first Grand Slam tournament.

The 16-year-old beat Bernarda Parra, No. 6 Ons Jabeur and Diane Parry before losing to No. 9 Barbora Krejčíková in three sets. However, it was Andreeva's actions in beating Perry that caught the attention of the tennis world.

Andreeva was trailing 1-6 to Perry and needed an epic comeback to win the game. She did it, winning the last two sets 6-1 and 7-6. She was also seen with a bite mark on her arm as she returned to the game.

British tennis star Andy Murray reacted to Andreeva's performance on X and rejected a comment a commentator made about her mental strength.

“Maybe the reason he turned the game around is because of his mental strength,” Murray wrote. “Maybe she turned the game around because she is hard on herself and pushes herself harder when she loses or plays poorly? Winner.”

Andreeva was delighted to find out that Murray was watching her match.

“Honestly, I didn't really think he would watch a game and then after tweeting comment on something,” he said via GB News. “Honestly, I'll try to print it somehow. I don't know, I'll put it in a frame.

“I'll take it everywhere with me. Maybe I'll put it on the wall so I can see it every day.”
