Roman Reigns is back.
Nearly four months after Reigns lost the WWE Undisputed Championship in a match against Cody Rhodes, the “Head of the Table” made an emphatic return to the ring and eliminated Solo Sikoa in the main event of SummerSlam. This opened the door for Rhodes to pick up the victory and defend his championship.
Reigns came out to Cleveland Browns Stadium with a bang. He hit Sikoa with a Superman Punch and then connected with the Spear. Sikoa was out of the fight when Rhodes executed his finishing maneuver. Rhodes stared down Reigns as he won the match.
The former champion's return came as Sikoa took over The Bloodline. Without Reigns or an Uso at his side, Sikoa bolstered his faction with Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu. When Tonga and Fatu won tag team gold on SmackDown before SummerSlam, Sikoa was looking for some gold of his own. But the “Original Tribal Chief” shattered those dreams.
Rhodes was one of two champions to retain their titles throughout the night.

Liv Morgan retained the Women's World Championship against Rhea Ripley. Dominik Mysterio turned on Ripley to help Morgan regain the title. Mysterio and Morgan kissed as Ripley watched, shaking with rage.
The Morgan-Ripley rivalry seemed far from over.
The Judgment Day drama boiled over later in the night. While faction members Carlito and JD McDonagh were sent to find Mysterio after the match, an irate Damian Priest was left to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther. Priest and Finn Balor exchanged words before the match, leading to what happened later.
Gunther and Priest traded blows throughout the night. Priest's knife-sharp strikes ripped open Gunther's chest. As it seemed Priest had the upper hand, Balor came down to cheer on his stablemate. But it was clear he had other intentions.

Drew McIntyre also defeated CM Punk in a very emotional match with Seth Rollins as special guest referee.
Rollins wasn't necessarily involved in the match, but McIntyre and Punk did direct their attention toward him at times during the match.
McIntyre wanted Rollins to let him hit Punk with a chair, but Rollins wouldn't allow it. Rollins' attention was drawn to something else when Punk tried to do a quick roll-up on McIntyre. Punk got angry and tensions started to build.
Punk noticed that Rollins had a bracelet that said the names of Punk's wife and his dog. He became more upset, but his attention was diverted from McIntyre. Punk hit Rollins with a GTS and took the bracelet off.
McIntyre took advantage of the situation and kicked Punk in the groin and then applied a Claymore. The Scottish Superstar then pinned Punk 1-2-3, much to Rollins' dismay.
