Rob Gronkowski threw out the first pitch at the Boston Red Sox game on Monday, and it was pretty much how you think it would have been for the legendary New England Patriots tight end.
“Gronk,” as he is affectionately known to all who have seen him on the field, had that written on the back of his personalized Red Sox jersey when he took the mound. He also had the number 87 on his back, the same one he wore with the Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
But instead of the typical skeet throw with a Red Sox player waiting for the throw, Gronkowski wanted to do his signature touchdown celebration.

Gronkowski raised his leg like a pitcher ready to throw the ball home, but decided to drive it into the pitcher's mound. He threw his right fist in the air before a roaring Boston crowd at Fenway Park before the Sox's game against the Cleveland Guardians.
Gronkowski has been known to spike footballs when scoring touchdowns during his career, and with 93 regular season touchdowns on his resume, there is an entire highlight video of him slamming the ball into the grass.

It's something his quarterback, Tom Brady, who connected with Gronkowski for 105 touchdowns between the regular season and playoffs throughout his illustrious career, wanted to give a seal of approval.
“I love seeing that Gronk Spike!!!!” Brady commented.
But this wasn't the only rebound of the day for Gronkowski, who did so with a soccer ball at the finish line of the 128th running of the Boston Marathon on Monday.
