Report: Florida Ad Scott Stricklin signs an extension of 3 years

Gainesville, Florida-the Atlético director of Florida, Scott Stricklin, has signed an extension of three years that will keep him under contract until 2030, a person familiar with the agreement said on Friday.

The person spoke with Associated Press based on anonymity because neither the school nor Stricklin had announced the extension. Financial details were not immediately available. Stricklin had been winning $ 1.8 million annually.

His new agreement joined after the Gators won a national championship in male basketball, the third in the history of the program and the first under coach Todd Golden. Stricklin hired Golden in March 2022.

The Florida football team finished 2024 with a burst, gathering around coach Billy Napier and winning the last four games behind the promising field Mariscal Dj Lagway. The Gators in 15th open the season on Saturday against Long Island.

Hired to replace the former announcement of Florida Jeremy Foley in November 2016, Stricklin has enjoyed 13 national titles and 44 conference crowns while leading one of the most recognizable brands in university sports. It has been fundamental to help gators navigate the always changing panorama of university sports, including income exchange and name payments, image and likeness, as well as up to date on the search for facilities.

Under Stricklin, Florida opened a football installation of $ 85 million and a baseball stadium of $ 65 million. The sports program also has preliminary plans to embark on a renewal of $ 1 billion to the Ben Hill Griffin stadium, better known as “The Swamp.”

But Stricklin's future seemed murky last year, especially with the football team starting 1-2 and beaten at home by Miami and Texas A&M. Stricklin hired Napier from Louisiana-Lafayette at the Sun Belt conference, and Napier was 12-16 at that time.

Stricklin was under enough heat so that it essentially stopped using social networks. He did not help to replace a female basketball coach (CAM Newbauer in 2021) and a football coach (Tony Amato in 2022) that he hired due to an alleged abuse towards the players.

Stricklin's work has been less stressful in the last 10 months. The Napier team fulfilled the section last year and increased expectations by 2025. And then the basketball team won a title in the third season of Golden.
