Real Madrid postpones Bernabéu concerts due to noise

Real Madrid have said they have decided to “provisionally reschedule” all upcoming concerts at their Santiago Bernabeu stadium over concerns about noise, following complaints from local residents.

Residents have raised concerns about noise levels at the redeveloped downtown stadium after it began hosting concerts this year, with artists including Taylor Swift and Karol G performing at the venue.

The ability to host concerts and other live events, in addition to Real Madrid home games, was a key part of the stadium's redevelopment as a year-round entertainment hub.

“Real Madrid CF announces that it has provisionally decided to reschedule the calendar of events and concerts at the Santiago Bernabéu,” the club announced on Friday.

“This decision is part of a series of measures that the club has been taking to ensure strict compliance with current municipal regulations during concerts.

“Despite the soundproofing of the Santiago Bernabéu and the additional measures that have been put in place, compliance with these regulations by the various organisers and promoters has been made difficult by the challenge of meeting all the requirements.

“Real Madrid will continue to work to ensure that the right conditions for sound production and distribution are met during concerts to allow concerts to be held in our stadium.”

Spanish artists Dellafuente, Aitana and Lola Indigo were scheduled to perform at the Bernabéu in November and December of this year and in March 2025 respectively.

The club said new dates would be announced soon and other non-musical events would continue to be held at the stadium.

Earlier this week, Madrid City Council admitted that concerts at the Bernabeu continued to exceed noise limits, despite attempts to address the problem in recent months.
