PSG unveil new Jordan third jersey inspired by Edith Piaf

After waiting quite a while for the release of their third kit, Paris Saint-Germain have finally unveiled their third kit for the 2024-25 season: a small, sleek and decidedly pink number.

Created in collaboration with Jordan Brand and inspired in part by “Life in pink” (“Life In Pink”), one of the most recognisable songs by legendary French singer and style icon Edith Piaf, PSG's latest kit features a blush “rust pink” base with contrasting black detailing.

The shirt also features a shade change of the club crest with a gradient from pink to black that is meant to somehow symbolise the connection between PSG's men's and women's teams. To that end, the shirt is also part of Nike's “Together We Rise” campaign, which celebrates the continued growth of women's football.

Kit design experts will also notice the presence of the “Hechter stripe”, albeit in a stylised form, with PSG’s iconic vertical band running down the centre of the shirt. The stripe was the brainchild of former club president Daniel Hechter, the fashion designer who helped create the club’s identity when it was formed in the mid-1970s.

While other clubs might opt for Latin mottos, inspirational quotes or momentous dates from their history, PSG decided to print the address of their flagship club store – “92 av. des Champs-Élysées, 75008 Paris, France” – on the back of the neck as a fitting testament to the rampant commercialism of modern football.

As with most of PSG’s joint projects with Jordan Brand, the matchday kit is part of a much wider fashion and streetwear collection, all with the same pink hue as a theme. Indeed, the adjacent set consists of training clothes, tracksuits, T-shirts, hoodies, caps, winter parkas, poolside flip-flops and even two pairs of customised pink Nike trainers.
