Police tackled protesters on the 18th green at TPC River Highlands during the final hole of the Travelers Championship on Sunday.
Scottie Scheffler was on the 18th green looking for victory when several protesters rushed onto the course in Cromwell, Connecticut.

Golf fans booed protesters while others shouted profanities in disapproval as authorities tried to remove protesters from the green as quickly as possible.
Some of the protesters wore T-shirts with the extinction symbol on the back, which is a circle representing the planet and a stylized hourglass representing running out of time.

The T-shirts also read: “No golf on a dead planet,” indicating that these protesters are climate change activists.
The protest couldn't have come at a more crucial time in the tournament, as Tom Kim needed a birdie to force a playoff against Scheffler, who stopped on the 18th hole once play resumed.
He would do just that, finishing 18 holes with a 66 after Scheffler shot a 65 that day.
This is not the first time we have seen protesters break into a sports playing field. In the past, climate activists have been seen at NFL games and others have attempted to glue their hands to the field in NBA competitions.
As the tournament continued, authorities handcuffed and removed all protesters from the venue.
Kim forced a playoff, but Scheffler made par again on the 18th hole to win it after Kim couldn't match it.
