Premier League clubs will trial two new forms of spending limits from next season, the league said on Thursday.
Teams in England's top flight will trial a “Squad Cost Rules” system, which will limit spending on players to 85% of a club's football revenue and net profits or losses from player sales.

A second system called “Top-Down Anchoring” limits – or anchors – spending to a multiple of the lowest combined cash and television rights prize a team is predicted to win.
The league said the schemes aimed to “enhance and preserve the financial sustainability of the clubs and the competitive balance of the Premier League”, as well as “promote the aspirations of the clubs”.
The league's current financial regulatory system, “Profitability and Sustainability Rules,” will remain in place while alternatives are tested. The judgments were non-binding, the league said.
Under PSR rules, which allow clubs to make losses of up to £105 million ($134 million) over a three-year period, Everton and Nottingham Forest received points deductions last season.
