Pep Guardiola: My performance has been 'really poor' this season


The Manchester City head, Pep Guardiola, has said that his own efforts this season have been “really poor”, since his part of his part struggles to recover his winning form of the title.

The current Champions City, which has won six Premier League crowns under Guardiola since the Spanish joined in 2016, are fifth in the table 22 points drifting of Liverpool leaders.

In the Champions League, City crashed before the 16 round after an aggregate defeat of 6-3 by Real Madrid.

Asked by journalists who qualify their performance, Guardiola replied: “This season? Really poor.”

“My duty was to get out of the situation much better than I have done.”

The city faces Bournemouth in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup on Sunday while looking to lift the trophy for eighth time.

However, Guardiola added that the roofs or the European qualification would not erase the disappointment of this season's national campaign.

“Of course it would be good to reach the final of the FA Cup, win it and [also to] Qualify for the Champions League, “he said.” That would be a great achievement, but the season has been poor and that will not change.

“Our standards and many things have not been good, that is the reality … hopefully it will not happen next season.”
