Las Vegas will be the talk of the town again on Sunday; This time it will be the NASCAR Cup Series that is coming to town for the third race of the 2024 regular season.
The NASCAR season has two races at “The Diamond in the Desert,” one in the spring and one in the fall. This time it will be the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube.

Daniel Suárez and William Byron have wins on their agendas this season. Byron won the Daytona 500 and Suarez won by 0.003 seconds at Atlanta in one of the closest races in recent memory. With all the momentum on their shoulders, they will look to solidify their playoff spots.
Byron is the defending winner of the race. He dominated the race, winning stages 1 and 2 before overtaking Kyle Larson and 2022 winner Alex Bowman to take the win. Bubba Wallace placed fourth and Christopher Bell finished fifth.
Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano are the only active drivers with multiple wins in the Pennzoil 400. Hendrick Motorsports has eight wins at the track since its first race in 1998.

Larson won the South Point 400 in the fall during the NASCAR playoffs.

Fortunately, the Atlanta race went off without a hitch due to the weather. According to Fox Weather, Las Vegas will have a high of 62 degrees with possible strong winds.
Fact Tracking
Jimmie Johnson has the most Pennzoil 400 wins with four, the last coming in 2010. Matt Kenseth has won three times and is the only driver with three. Keselowski and Logano have two wins each, along with Jeff Burton, Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick.
The track is a tri-oval approximately 1.5 miles long. It has a 20-degree bank in the corners, a 9-degree bank on the front and back straights.
