A comment made by a European Olympics presenter on Saturday about the Australian women's swimming team cost him his place in Paris.
Bob Ballard, covering the Paris Summer Games for Eurosport, spoke of how “women are” in reference to the Australian team after they won the 4x100m freestyle.

“Well, the women are finishing up. You know how women are… hanging out, putting on makeup,” Ballard said, according to the New York Post.
Ballard's fellow commentator, Lizzie Simmons, called his comment “outrageous,” according to Deadline.
Eurosport dropped Ballard from its Olympic coverage afterwards.
“During a segment of Eurosport's coverage last night, commentator Bob Ballard made an inappropriate comment,” the company said in a statement, according to The Independent. “As a result, he has been removed from our commentary roster with immediate effect.”
