Ovechkin gets the number 889, now six goals from the NHL registration

Winnipeg, Manitoba – Alex Ovechkin scored the 889 goal of his career on Tuesday night, and is now six goals to break the NHL of Wayne Gretzky's NHL.

Ovechkin posted the tie target in the third period to help Washington's capitals force extra time and win a point. The Winnipeg Jets won 3-2 in the additional session.

It has been a remarkable race this season for the leading capitals of the East, and Ovechkin, who entered the goals of the 42nd campaign, without breaking a record that for a long time seemed inaccessible. He sat 16 games due to a broken leg, but resumed his search in December.

The 39 -year -old Russian, in his 20th NHL season, received a pass from the Aliaksei protas on Tuesday night, and shot a wrist shot beyond the trophy leader from time to time, Connor Hellebuyck, to tie the score.

Ovechkin, named the third star of the game, had four shots on the network and ended with 17:43 ice time in 20 shifts.

“Everyone does a great job and the album reached (protas) and he finds me,” said Ovechkin. “It was a pretty good work of all.”

Coach Spencer Carbertry described him as “a great play at a great time to tie that game.” He is becoming his work to find the best situations to get Ovechkin in a position to write down.

“Obviously wants to be there, and then handle it with certain confrontations and certain situations,” Carbery said. “That is something that he and I have spoken and work, given the situation and circumstance of the game.”

Ovechkin has 36 goals this season and is on the way to reach 40 for the 14th time, also most of the history of the League, despite its absence of injuries. The attention center will continue increasingly bright as Gretzky approaches.

“It's what it is,” said Ovechkin. “It's a fun moment, obviously, but yes, you just have to enjoy it. It's a special moment, obviously. Everyone is looking at. Everyone is paying attention to that.”
