Olympics host Scott Hanson reveals he had a bloody finger while cheering on Team USA


Sports fans know Scott Hanson primarily for his experience watching the NFL.

He helps NFL viewers get through the witching hour during his “seven hours of commercial-free football” in the “NFL Red Zone” every Sunday in the fall and winter.

This time, Hanson had the opportunity to send viewers of the Paris Olympics to different sporting events during the two weeks of coverage as part of the “Golden Zone.” On Monday, things seemed to get a little too intense.

Hanson posted a photo on X showing his bloody finger.

“I was banging on the desk in Gold Zone when Team USA was winning a medal,” he wrote. “I'm classified as 'probable' to return.”

Hanson and Olympic spectators were able to watch the Americans take home several medals on Monday.

Skateboarders Jagger Eaton and Nyjah Huston won silver and bronze medals respectively in the men's street event. The U.S. men's gymnastics team earned a bronze medal in the team final. Katie Grimes, Emma Weyant, Luke Hobson and Ryan Murphy won medals in the pool. Fencer Nick Itkin won bronze in the individual foil.

It was a solid day for the United States, with an important Tuesday ahead for some of the stars of the Olympics. Simone Biles is expected to compete in the gymnastics team final.
