British swimming star Adam Peaty claimed a silver medal at the Paris Olympics last week, but his time at the Summer Games appears to have left him unsatisfied.
Peaty said the food at the Olympic Village left athletes wanting more and others disgusted by what they found.

“The catering is not good enough for the level that the athletes are expected to be at,” Peaty told the UK's iNews. “We have to do our best. In Tokyo the food was amazing. In Rio it was amazing. But this time… there wasn't enough protein options, there were long queues, you had to wait 30 minutes for food because there was no queuing system.”
Peaty added that the Paris Games’ hopes of being as sustainable as possible have affected the food. The Guardian reported that 60% of meals served are meat-free and at least 33% are plant-based.
“I like fish and people are finding worms in them. It's not good enough. The standard is that we're looking for the best in the world and we're not giving them the best,” he added.

Paris organisers told iNews that more options were being offered.
“We listen to athletes and take their feedback very seriously,” said a Paris 2024 spokesperson. “Since the opening of the Olympic Village, our partner Sodexo Live! has been working proactively to adapt supply to the increasing use of the Olympic Village restaurants, as well as the actual athlete consumption observed during the first few days.
“As a result, quantities of certain products have been significantly increased and additional staff have been deployed to ensure the service runs smoothly.”
