Novak Djokovic continued his hot streak at Wimbledon on Monday when he defeated No. 15 Holger Rune in the round of 16 on Centre Court.

However, Djokovic made things rather awkward after the match when he called out the fans in the stands, saying they were “disrespectful” throughout the match.

Rune, a 21-year-old Danish tennis star, received a lot of love from fans throughout the match, with many apparently chanting “Rune!” when she scored.

He didn't score much, however, as Djokovic made short work of him, finishing the match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.

The awkwardness came when Djokovic thought the fans were booing him while saying his opponent's last name.

“To all the fans who have respect for me and who stayed here tonight: thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate it. And to all those people who have chosen to disrespect the player, in this case, me,” Djokovic said.

Djokovic then taunted the crowd by saying, “Have a good night,” elongating the “O”s in the word “good” to sound like boos.

The Wimbledon interviewer tried to tell Djokovic that wasn't the case, but the tournament's No. 2-ranked player was quick to respond.

“They were, they were, they were,” he said, repeating that fans were booing him. “I don't accept it. No, no, no, I know they were singing for Rune. But that's an excuse to boo too. “I've played in much more hostile environments. Believe me, you can't touch me.”

Djokovic may not be in the best position with the Wimbledon fans for the rest of the match, especially after he reacted to chants from the stands throughout the match before making his statement.
