NHL analyst Paul Bissonnette didn't like how the first overtime between the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche ended Friday night in their Stanley Cup playoff game.
The Stars and Avalanche were tied 1-1 when it looked like Mason Marchment had scored the game-winning goal to give Dallas the win and the series. But the referees overturned the score due to interference by goalie Matt Duchene, which was upheld upon review.

Duchene then got revenge when he scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime.
To Bissonnette, Marchment should have had the score and suggested NHL officials had money in the game.

“In this sense, he likes to hit with the cane,” he said. “And then it's clear that (Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar)'s hit is what breaks everything. So in this case it's basically friendly fire, where I think that probably should have counted.

“Obviously, when the referee overruled it, they'll probably go upstairs. They'll say, 'Well, we have to stick with the original call.' So, I don't know if that referee has the DraftKings sportsbook on right now, but it was kind of nonsense.”
Duchene finally scored on a loose puck past Colorado goalie Alexander Georgiev.
“Just elation,” he said of his emotions after the game. “I was so tired that I started skating and then I got tired. I don't even know what I did after that, to be honest with you. I was pretty pumped.”
The Stars will advance to the Western Conference finals to face the winner of the Vancouver Canucks-Edmonton Oilers series. Vancouver has a 3-2 lead in that series.
