New Hampshire father banned from wearing armbands supporting women's sports at daughter's soccer game

A New Hampshire father is speaking out after saying he was banned from school for wearing pink armbands with the word “XX” in support of girls' sports at his daughter's soccer game this week, when a biological male was reportedly playing on the opposing team.

Anthony Foote of Bow, New Hampshire, told the New Hampshire Journal that he received a trespassing notice from Bow and Dunbarton school district superintendent Marcy Kelley after wearing armbands supporting girls-only sports at his daughter's high school football game on Tuesday.

“My daughter is playing in the homecoming game this weekend and I'm banned from playing until the 23rd,” Foote told the publication. “I can't watch her play in the homecoming game, which is ridiculous.”

The trouble began when several parents complained to Bow High School athletic director Mike Desilets after learning that a Plymouth Regional High School player was a biological male who played for the girls' varsity team.

According to the report, some parents arrived at Tuesday's game with the armbands on, but the game was halted and school officials demanded they take them off. The report states that Foote and at least one other parent were given “police orders to 'stay put.'”

A copy of the notice obtained by the New Hampshire Journal accused Foote of leading a protest that “was designed and had the effect of intimidating, threatening, harassing and discouraging” the student on the opposing team.

The New Hampshire Journal reports that at least two parents have been served with a court order. "Do not pass" orders.

“Specifically, before and during the football game, you brought and distributed pink bracelets to parents and other attendees to protest the participation of a transgender student on the other team,” the notice says.

He adds that the bracelets violate school policy.

Foote denied the protest allegation, telling the outlet that those wearing the armbands were simply putting them on for the game. He provided the outlet with videos showing some parents complaining about the armbands.

Foote told the outlet he has no problem with the opposing player, but is concerned that his daughter could be “physically hurt.”

Marcy Kelley did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
