For the first time in the history of college sports, the NCAA has agreed to allow the five power conferences to pay players directly, according to ESPN.
ESPN has learned that the NCAA and the conferences plan to move forward with a “multimillion-dollar deal to resolve three pending federal antitrust cases,” where the organization will “pay more than $2.7 billion in damages over 10 years to past and current athletes.” “
They have also reportedly reached an agreement on a revenue-sharing plan, which would allow each school to share up to around $20 million a year with athletes.
This is a developing story. More to come.
