Ncaa bubble of the male hockey tournament; How to see Final Beanpot

While the biggest prize in university hockey is clearly the trophy of the National Championship, in a corner of the sport panorama, that recognition has a rival: the Beanpot.

The 72nd tournament, which presents Boston College, University of Boston, Northeastern and Harvard, concludes Monday at TD Garden with BC facing BU in the championship game (7:30 PM et in ESPN+).

Both teams are classified among the 10 best in the country (BC is number 1, BU is number 8 in the most recent surveys), but even in years when Beanpot has no national implications of that magnitude, energy, energy, Energy, desire and hate Herven for schools and their fans.

However, this year's final has a different turn. Nine of the players, six of BC, three of BU, were teammates at the IIHF World Junior Championship, where they won the gold medal for the US team. UU. In January. At least one member of the Eagles or Terriers scored or helped in all but one of the 37 goals that the United States scored in the tournament.

Any friendship will be waiting Monday night.

“It's just understanding that you can't have friends,” said BC's first year student James Hagens to Boston Globe last month. “You could play with them for a while. They could be your best friends, but you just have to understand that it is a hockey game, and you have to go out and win.”

Cole Eiserman de Bu expressed similar feelings. “You struggle with those guys, you approach those guys, but I think we are all competitive boys,” he told The Globe. “We want to win for our own school.”

The teams gathered in a series at home and house in January, with BC sweeping for 6-2 and 2-0 scores. But BU will gladly accept those results in exchange for a trophy elevation victory on Monday night. The Terriers won the Beanpot for the last time in 2022, while the most recent BC championship was in 2016. Northeaster has won five of the last six tournaments.

Although Monday's game will not count on the East Hockey classification, conferences races are warming throughout the country as the NCAA tournament field selection approaches.

The NCAA field includes the winners of the six conference tournaments: Atlantic, Big Ten, Ccha, ECAC, Hockey East and NCHC, and 10 teams in general based on peer classifications.

The conference tournament championship games are scheduled for March 22, with the NCAA tournament teams that will be announced on March 23. The regional ones will take place from March 27 to 30, with the Frozen Four on April 10 and 12 in St. Louis. Each NCAA tournament game, including the selection program, will be on the ESPN networks and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Here is a look where the NCAA field is located, with equipment listed in order of peers as of February 9.

League champions of an offer

It is increasingly likely we have three leagues of one year: ECAC, CCA and Atlantic. Quinnipiac and the state of Minnesota are outside the general bubble, but if they do not win their conference tournaments, losses on the road seem to approve their general hopes.

Quinnipiac leads an adjusted ECAC race, with the five best teams within the five points of the other, while Minnesota State has a solid control in the first place in the CCHA. So we are for now in the NCAA field for now.

In the Atlantic, the Sacred Heart, Holy Cross and Bentley are at one point on the other in the classification of the League, although Holy Cross and Bentley have played two games less than the sacred heart, and are grouped in the park. We approached the crusaders, who are a place ahead of Bentley in the couple, but as with the other three leagues in this group, everything will be reduced to the conference tournament.

In the bubble

Assuming that there will be three champions of the conference outside the Top 16 in pairs, the teams below number 13 should not luck in terms of catching an NCAA offer in general. But the classification in this range is very tight, with positions that change with almost all the results. These teams will have opportunities for key victories to win critical capital by peers, but the margin of error is thin.
