NCAA – 13 players from 6 schools involved in game schemes


Thirteen male university basketball players of six schools participated in game schemes, including betting on their own team, manipulation of the game and sharing information with third parties for game purposes, NCAA announced Thursday.

The players previously associated with eastern Michigan, the Temple, the state of Arizona, New Orleans, North Carolina A&T and the state of the Mississippi Valley are under investigation for random games violations, according to the NCAA, which refused to name the athletes until the infractions process has concluded. According to NCAA, none of the players are enrolled in schools where infractions occurred.

The violations include athletes that you bet on and against their own teams, share information with third parties in order to bet, manipulating to know the results of punctuation or game and/or refusing to participate in the investigation of the execution personnel. The NCAA said that some third parties are involved in multiple cases and that they were aware of how some players were committed to the schemes, but refused to give details.

“The increase in sports bets is creating more opportunities for sports athletes to get involved in this unacceptable behavior, and although legalized sports bets are here to stay, regulators and game companies can make more to reduce these integrity risks by eliminating proportion bets and giving the sports leagues a seat at the table when they establish policies,” said the president of the NCAA.
