MLB 2025: Do puppies have a world series level list?

Chicago – There were a lot of rumors about Chicago puppies that potentially made great movements in the MLB exchange deadline, but the team finally opted for medium level improvements instead of a dumping addition.

That was not the case with some of the main competitors of the Chicago National League. The parents of Philadelphia, the Mets and the parents of San Diego obtained a high -end closure, while the puppies changed for the relief of Taylor Rogers and Andrew Kitledge together with the head Mike Soroka, which is in the IL after leaving their first beginning in Chicago due to the discussion of the shoulder, along with the user Man Willi Castro.

“It's hard when you see other teams with whom you compete with really good players, but those are not decisions you are making at the time,” said General Manager Carter Hawkins to ESPN. “His decisions you are making during the week and month. A certain discipline is needed, especially at a time when you see things move that way, but we could fulfill our approach and we really feel good with the additions we could do.

“The teams are trying to find that guy who can block the eighth or ninth entrance, but that also costs a lot. That costs many future victories. We have a responsibility with the puppies of 2025 but also with the 2032 puppies. That is not always popular at the time, but they are the decisions we have to make.”

So where do you leave those decisions of the deadline for the puppies entering the section? Is your current enough list to keep up with the Milwaukee brewers in the central race of the National League? And do they have a championship level team that can compete in an NL loaded in October?

We ask a panel of three MLB experts, a coach, an executive and an explorer, to evaluate the list of a subsequent deadline for Chicago's trade.

Starting to launch

The puppies occupy 14th In the effectiveness of entrants and how far they would arrive to improve the rotation was the largest question that surrounds the team before the deadline.

Chicago has suffered several key rotation injuries, including the loss of Justin Steele (elbow) for the season, Shota Imanaga (Ischiotibial) for more than a month and Jameson Tailon (calf), who expires this month. The right Javier Assad is also expected to return soon, but has not launched the whole season due to an oblique problem.

After coming from Washington's nationals on the deadline, Soroka's debut for puppies lasted only two tickets and now the team is waiting to see when it returns. Even when Soroka returns, he is more a backman's backman option or post -season than the October head.

“When you hear what were the prices of the headline and that Miami was doing a career, everything takes into account,” said HAPP of the Ian Happ puppies. “It's hard to pick up that kind of boys.”

At this time, Imanaga, Matthew Boyd and Cade Horton are aligned as the three best headlines of the team with Imanaga and Boyd the two locks for the equipment's postseason rotation.

Explore: “Hip is their release: they have playoff headlines in Imanaga and Boyd (I like Boyd, but it has a history of injury and fatigue). Others like Cade Horton and Colin Rea can turn a good game, but I am not sure that you feel comfortable delivering the ball in a game 3.”

Executive: “I really thought the puppies would add another starting pitcher. I think they have enough releases to reach October, but I am worried that they can face some of the other really deep national league clubs.”

Coach: “Outside Imanaga, they have good five -ticket launchers for October. I will take a risk against Horton, Taillon or even Boyd for the third time through the order, but I like Imanaga. It is always difficult to square it.”

Bullpen

The bullpen of the puppies occupies 12th In Era with additions to Rogers and Kitledge's term to meet a specific need.

According to ESPN Research, before the trades, the team was finally classified in baseball by a wide margin in the use of Fregnerball. In fact, the 4.9% rate of launching the launch of the puppies would be the lowest by any team for more behind the available data (2008).

Rogers (50%) and Kitredge (34%) immediately become the best hundidors of the team, an important feature when they need a double play on a team with outstanding defenders of Infield.

“They are types that have a different launch profile,” said Dansby Swanson campocort. “It really helps to give some new looks in our bullpen. With luck, our defense can also help them.”

Explore: “They have directed their bullpen, but they still have some weak links. Very good defensive club that can prevent races for those types.”

Executive: “The October baseball usually focuses on the launch, and I have concerns about its ability to win a long series.”

“I understand why they did not chase those closures that changed equipment, but you are asking a lot from [Daniel] Palencia in October. I'm not sure they have enough. “

Coach: “When we face them, Brad Keller and Drew Pomeranz were turned off. But you can never have enough. I read where three left -handed ones are now, which will be useful when they will face teams like the Philis. Caleb Thielbar is underestimated.”

Line up

The offensive of the puppies has been close to the top of the league during most of the season, but lately collapsed. The medium of the order has been silent, starting with the All-Star Kyle Tucker, who is hitting alone .212 from the All-Star Break.

The team decided not to look for a third base such as Eugenio Suárez, Ryan McMahon and Ke'Bryan Hayes moved on the deadline for exchange. Instead, the puppies chose to acquire the super-utility man Willi Castro of the Minnesota Twins.

Castro has already demonstrated his versatility. In his early days with the team, he began four games in four different positions, giving the usual a break when August dog days descended.

“I think it satisfies another need,” Swanson said. “We really didn't have that … I never surprised the deadline. It adds to what we have here.”

Explore: “It has been a good offensive throughout the year. They should have enough speed there, since playoffs can reach a stolen base.”

“Superior Defense. [Michael] Busch is the best underestimated player who can play a good defense and contributes well offensively. [Matt] Shaw's defense is strong and Castro's addition also helps. “

“His weakness is the bank, but Castro could change that. That is a good truck that many teams were watching.”

Executive: “The good news for them is that they have a tremendous offensive team, so they will be a difficult confrontation for anyone in the playoffs. … There are many teams that could wear a Willi Castro, so that is a good truck. “

Coach: “They are vulnerable against left -handed ones. When Tucker does not hit them, they will have problems. But he generally does, so that establishes all that half of his alignment. Since you asked, I did not think they would touch their offensive on the deadline. They already have the pieces to damage both power and speed.”
