Man United: Amorim is 'totally opposite' to Ten Hag – Harry Maguire

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has said Ruben Amorim's style is “totally opposite” to that of former boss Erik Ten Hag.

Amorim was appointed United manager in November after Ten Hag was sacked following a poor run of results.

After a promising start under Amorim (with four wins and a draw in their first seven games, including a 2-1 win over rival Manchester City), United have lost three games in a row since the Manchester derby on December 15 .

Maguire told Sky Sports that he expects the transition period to be difficult for the team as they get used to the new manager.

“The thing is with the coaches and the styles, it's not that they've come in and have similar styles,” Maguire said.

“They are the complete opposite in terms of what they want and demand. That is why the transition period is going to be hard. We all have great faith in the coach and his entire coaching staff.

“I'm sure things will change. He [Amorim] He knows exactly what he needs to do to get this club back.

“He's come in and done everything he needed to do. He's really demanding.”

United have fallen to 14th place in the Premier League and will be looking to get back to winning ways against Newcastle on Monday.
