Kylian Mbappé's lawyers have sent a final notice to Paris Saint-Germain requesting that the club pay the wages it believes it is owed, a source has told ESPN.
The notification arrived at the club's offices in Paris last week. Mbappé, 25, believes the club owes him almost 100 million euros ($106.8 million) in unpaid salaries and bonuses.
A source confirmed to ESPN that the French champions have yet to pay him his salaries for April, May and June, as well as his February bonus.
PSG believes the player agreed in August to pay off some of the money he owed them so the club could reduce the financial impact of his departure at the end of his contract in June, a source said.
However, a source added that there was no written and signed version of this agreement and that this is the center of the dispute. PSG, which has no intention of responding to the request, plans to act according to what it believes has been agreed.
Sources said Mbappe is of the opinion that PSG's decision not to play him regularly from February to May after he told them he was leaving the club canceled his deal and that he wants all the money he says he is owed.
It is believed that it may be necessary for both parties to plead their case in court to achieve a resolution.
The French captain spent seven years in the French capital before joining Real Madrid as a free agent on June 3.
The dispute with his former club was a contributing factor to his June 5 comments about his discontent with PSG.
Mbappe said certain people at PSG made him “unhappy” in his first press conference since completing his free transfer to Real Madrid.
Sources told ESPN that PSG felt he was being “ungrateful” in his comments and added that the club will not refund him €80 million in wages and bonuses in an effort to recoup money for his departure.
