Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has refused to rule out Kevin De Bruyne for Sunday's clash with Arsenal, saying he could still feature despite suffering an injury on Wednesday.
“He feels a little better today… We'll train tomorrow and see. He could be fine.” [involved]”Guardiola said at a press conference on Friday.
De Bruyne was substituted at half-time during the 0-0 draw against Inter Milan. The Belgian international was injured late in the first half after trying to latch on to a pass from Jack Grealish.
City are preparing to host Arsenal in what could prove to be a crucial clash in the Premier League title race.
Guardiola's side are unbeaten this season and lead the Premier League after winning their first four games.
The Spanish manager was asked about the current debate over football's congested calendar, particularly Rodri's comments that a players' strike could be near.
“I agree with you, maybe for the first time, that many voices are talking about the players,” Guardiola said. “I'm pretty sure that if something is going to change, it has to come from the players. They are the only ones who can change something.”
“The business can function without managers, sporting directors, media and owners, but without players you cannot play. The only ones who have the power to do so are them.
“And I'm also quite busy. They've done it to tweak the game, to make it more attractive. That's the reason why many players around the world, not just Rodders, [Rodri]They are starting to talk. We'll see.”
