After the Buffalo Bills-Pittsburgh Steelers game was moved to Monday night, Lucas responded to calls that the Chiefs-Dolphins game should also be rescheduled.

The National Weather Service said Kansas City, Missouri, was expected to experience “dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills” throughout the day and night. At 7 pm CT, temperatures were expected to drop to -2 degrees with a wind chill of around -24 degrees.
“Having spent several winters in upstate New York, I respect the need for emergency crews and first responders to be prepared for winter storms,” Lucas wrote in X. “I hope everyone in Buffalo, Western New York York and surrounding areas be safe this weekend.
“While we face challenging temperatures in Kansas City, we remain ready for today's playoff game, downtown events, and other emergency needs throughout our community due to the cold. We encourage everyone to stay safe and seek resources for assistance.
