Philadelphia-Jay Wright has decided to get away from being a full-time television analyst after three years to spend more time to his other position at the University of Villanova.
Wright was hired by CBS Sports and TNT Sports as a university basketball analyst in 2022. He was a game analyst during the regular season before moving to the study for the NCAA tournament.
“I am grateful for the incredible experiences and friendships. I hope to stay connected and collaborate with them in future projects,” Wright said in a statement on social networks.
Wright was appointed special assistant of the president of Villanova after his retirement. In that role, it is involved with the collection of funds, advice and education.
The coach of the Hall of Fame spent 21 seasons in Villanova, where he took the Wildcats to two national titles (2016, 2018) and four appearances in the Final Four. He had a general record of 642-282 in Hofstra and Villanova.
