Galatasaray are considering signing Manchester United midfielder Casemiro, a source has told ESPN.
The Turkish side are in the market for a midfielder and have, according to a source, included the Brazilian in their list.
The transfer window in Turkey does not close until September 13, giving Galatasaray another 10 days to complete their summer business.
Casemiro's future at Old Trafford is in doubt after his dismal performance in the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
The 32-year-old was substituted at half-time after making two mistakes that led to Liverpool's first two goals, both scored by Luis Diaz.
His place as a starter in Erik ten Hag's team is also under threat following the arrival of Manuel Ugarte.
The Uruguayan midfielder was signed by Paris Saint-Germain at the transfer deadline for 50 million pounds ($66 million) but was unable to face Liverpool because he was not registered in time.
Ugarte has joined up with Uruguay ahead of World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Venezuela and could make his United debut against Southampton on September 14.
Casemiro still has two years left on his contract at Old Trafford after joining from Real Madrid in a £60m move in 2022.
As one of the club's highest-paid players, on a salary of more than £300,000 a week, his wage demands would be problematic for Galatasaray and a loan deal is likely to depend on whether United are willing to continue covering some of his wages. Galatasaray, who won the Turkish championship last season, have already been quick to seal a surprise loan deal for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
United are working to reduce their wage bill by bringing in several high-earning players from their squad, previously including Cristiano Ronaldo, David de Gea, Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho.
Sources told ESPN that the club were open to offers for Casemiro throughout the summer, but expected interest from the Saudi Pro League failed to materialise.
Casemiro is on holiday but is expected to return to Carrington next week ahead of the trip to Southampton. A source told ESPN he would not be open to a move to Turkey, although it would depend on whether he has a realistic prospect of playing regularly for United.
