Europa League draw: Manchester United to face Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce

Manchester United will reunite with their former manager Jose Mourinho after being drawn to face his side Fenerbahce in the UEFA Europa League.

Mourinho, who won the Europa League while managing United in 2017, signed for the Istanbul-based club this summer. United also face Glasgow Rangers at Old Trafford and visit Porto's Estádio do Dragão.

As with the Champions League, UEFA modified the format by creating an eight-match league phase and expanding the competition to 36 teams.

Unlike in previous years, no team will be relegated from the Champions League after the first round. The dates of the matches will be announced on Saturday.

Tottenham, meanwhile, will play at home against Daniele De Rossi's Roma and will also visit Galatasaray.

Rangers faced both United and Tottenham.

Under the new format and draw system, each team faced eight different opponents (four home and four away games), two from each of the four seeded pots.

Teams from the same league may not play against each other, and each club may not play more than two teams from the same country.

The top eight teams will advance directly to the Round of 16. Teams finishing between ninth and 24th will advance to a knockout stage, while the bottom 12 teams will be eliminated.

In the Conference League, Chelsea faced Gent, Shamrock Rovers, FC Noah, Heidenheim, Astana and Panathinaikos.
