Donna Kelce had some tips for high school children who decide where to go to college.
Kelce, mother of Jason and Travis Kelce, who went to the University of Cincinnati, said the children should go to college away from their hometown.
“I think people should go as far as possible, that is my point of view. I think you grow more when you are far from people who are with you all the time,” Donna said during a recent appearance on “new heights.”

“I think that if you are going to do the same and go to a university and have the same friends around you, you will never have any growth. You can never be alone and try to solve things on your own. You will always have someone there as well as help it through all those decisions.”
“But when you go to university you are totally, usually, totally alone. And you have no one there, it simply fails and then you want what I want to say. Sometimes you have few setbacks, there is adversity, you have to overcome it.”
Kelce said those who decide not to go to college should also move away from home.
“That is why I don't think it's a good idea to be at home when you go to university or you're close.”

Travis Kelce said that the university selection process should be selfish, and not a choice that makes others.
“The university is a decision that you must make for yourself. It is a selfish decision that you have to take for the future of any race or lane you want to take in life,” said Travis.
“No one should go to a school to follow another person other than how I went to Cincinnati to go there due to Jason. I don't think anyone should go to university to follow someone else. I think they should go there because of the values they see will be better for them.”

Jason Kelce echoed Travis's feeling on the university's selection process about the student, and no one else.
“You go to university to learn and get a degree, you do not go to university so you can be with other people. Like that is not the reason you go to university. If you want to do that, you just don't go to university and live wherever that person (living) is not the reason you choose to go to college.”
Jason and Travis did not take their mother's advice, since they grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and went to the University in Cincinnati. While they remained in Ohio, Cleveland Heights and Cincinnati are at the opposite ends of the state, four hours by car of each other.
