The NFL Draft is just over a month away. Several top college football quarterbacks headline this year's draft as several teams with early picks try to find their next franchise player.

Sheduer Sanders followed his father, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, to Colorado. The Buffaloes quarterback helped lead Colorado to an impressive 3-0 start. Then the losses started piling up, but Sanders remained productive.

He finished the season with 27 touchdowns against three interceptions and 3,230 passing yards. Sanders threw 40 touchdowns in his final season at Jackson State, where he also played with his father. Those numbers probably only increased Coach Prime's confidence in his son's draft prospects.

“I think he had the ability, but he probably would have been the second quarterback off the board,” Sanders said, according to The Athletic.

In just over a month, Sanders and the Buffaloes will take the field for the program's annual spring game. Practice is scheduled for April 27, a weekend that coincides with the 2024 draft.

DEION SANDERS SHARES WHAT CONCERNS HIM ABOUT CALEB WILLIAMS, SHEDEUR'S SON IN THE NFL: 'THAT MATTERS'

Sanders' father touted his Hall of Fame resume and ties to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank and even NFL commissioner Roger Goodell when he introduced the argument that his son would have been a first-round pick in this year's draft. .

“The only reason I know that, you don't think I know people in the NFL? I'm sorry, how many years did I play? 14? I think I have a gold jacket in my crib. I think I know a few.” people. Jerry Jones. Arthur Blank. I know some people in the game. Roger Goodell. So when I talk I'm not just getting things out of my head. I'm releasing knowledge-based things. So let's make that clear. “.

Sheduer's strong play last season generated a considerable amount of buzz around the NFL. He previously acknowledged his displeasure with the way Colorado closed the season, saying it “didn't end the right way.”

The Buffaloes finished the 2023 campaign with a 4-8 record, which may have contributed to their decision to return to Boulder for the 2024 season.

In January, Sheduer explained why he decided to continue his career in college football. “Everyone knows I won't be making a statement this year,” he wrote on X, the company formerly known as Twitter. “We have the pieces we need to succeed this year.”

Sanders sat out the final game of last season due to a back injury. On Wednesday, the Buffaloes head coach and two-time Super Bowl champion gave an update on his son's health.

“He's made a tremendous recovery,” Deion said Wednesday. “She's eight times better, I mean it, her back than last year, the way she feels.”

The senior interlocutor expressed similar positive feelings about his recovery.

“It took me a long time to recover to 100%,” Shedeur said Wednesday. “The weight room program that I'm doing now slowly strengthened me… to the point where I know I can go out with a lot of confidence and do anything, do any throw, do any run. I feel great now.” .

He also shared his desire to be the first quarterback selected in his draft class.

“I'm trying to be the first quarterback off the board. That's really what it is,” the senior quarterback said. “I respect Caleb, I respect how he plays. He's a great player. But in general, there are different levels of quarterbacks. There are guys that are special, there are guys that are good and guys that are good, game managers. You have to understand “what player you are and what category you belong in. I understood that this year was not my year. I didn't have enough time at this level.”
