Chiefs star Travis Kelce calls media ‘a bunch of idiots’ after calling for Mike Tomlin to be fired

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce had some choice words for the Pittsburgh media during his latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast with his older brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce.

They were discussing how longtime Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin will achieve his 17th consecutive undefeated season, regardless of the outcome of the Week 18 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday. The Steelers are 9-7 despite struggles throughout the season.

However, some in the Pittsburgh media were calling for the team to move on from Tomlin, either by letting him go midseason or trading him for assets if possible.

Travis blasted the media for even thinking about it as a possibility.

“They were talking about firing him, what? Seven weeks ago?” Jason asked his brother.

“The media is so dumb,” Travis responded. “Why do we do that to the media? A bunch of idiots. Just a bunch of idiots. Out here talking nonsense. One of the best coaches the NFL has ever seen, possibly getting the job from him.” 17th consecutive season without losing. Jesus Christ.”

The 2023 season has been turbulent for Pittsburgh, however, as offensive coordinator Matt Canada was fired midseason because that part of the game struggled greatly.

However, the Steelers managed to pick up wins in a difficult AFC North division this season. They also have a chance to make the playoffs, in several ways, most of which come with a win over the AFC’s No. 1 seed Ravens.
