Since Barcelona and Spotify agreed on a sponsorship agreement in March 2022, the two have collaborated in some first when it comes to kits designs.
The Spotify logo has appeared as the sponsor of the Spanish Front from that agreement. However, shirts occasionally have a more conventional design.
The players have put the logos of six musicians: Drake, Coldplay, Karol G, The Rolling Stones, Rosalía and Travis Scott, in the front of the Barça Kits. Limited editing looks have been reserved for the matches of El Classic against Real Madrid, one of the greatest rivalries of football.
In October 2022, for the first time in the history of Barcelona, the club replaced the name of its main sponsor with “an internationally acclaimed artist, Drake,” according to a press release. The Rosalia album logo followed months later, then the classic logo of the tongue and lips of the Rolling Stones. Scott is the last to appear in the Barcelona kit, which faces Villarreal on Sunday (1 pm et in ESPN+).
Here is a look at every time an artist has been represented in the Kit in Barcelona, and the result when it happened.
Drake, October 16, 2022
Result: Real Madrid wins 3-1
Less than a year after his agreement with Spotify, Barcelona celebrated Drake that reached 50 billion transmissions on the music platform with a limited editing kit. The clothing brand logo of the Canadian rapper, October's own, appeared in the uniform.
However, he did not bring Barcelona much luck. Madrid jumped to a 2-0 advantage with goals from Karim Benzema and Federico Valverde. Barça withdrew one in the 83rd minute, but an extra penalty of Rodrygo's victory sealed the victory of Madrid.
Rosalía, March 19, 2023
Result: Barcelona wins 2-1
The second classic of the 2022-23 season meant another remix of the Barça shirt.
This time, he presented the album “Motomami” of Rosalía, which was launched a year ago that week. Rosalía was the most striated Spanish artist worldwide and in Barcelona by 2022. The singer grew seeing Barça Lionel Messi and Samuel Eto'o's legends.
The Catalan side took care of business this time, defeating Madrid behind the goals of Sergi Roberto and Franck Kessié.
The Rolling Stones, October 28, 2023
Result: Madrid wins 2-1
The classic debut for Barça Wunderkind Lamine Yamal also scored the first time a band appeared in the club's shirt. Designed in coordination with the launch of the first Rolling Stones album in 18 years, the iconic tongue logo and lips adorned the kit for a memorable appearance.
After the announcement, the Rolling Stones saw their average daily currents jump by more than 125% in Spotify compared to the previous day, according to a press release.
Barça opened the scoring for a 1-0 advantage, but Madrid took this edition of the confrontation after two Jude Bellingham clutch goals.
Karol G, April 21, 2024
Result: Madrid wins 3-2
Spotify referred to the design of the Karol G shirt as “to celebrate those who change the game, overcome the barriers and leave a legacy for the next generation to express themselves inside and outside the field.” His characteristic logo of the spike wire heart adorned the front at a time when Karol G called “truly significant.”
Madrid returned to victory this time in a thriller, since Bellingham noted the late winner.
Coldplay, October 26, 2024
Result: Barça wins 4-0
Coldplay's “Moon Music” album served as the inspiration for the logo in the Barça kit.
The album was released in early October and debuted at number 1 on the weekly Spotify global lists. Coldplay and Barça were not strange either. The success of the British band in 2008 “Viva la Vida” was played by the then Pep Guardiola manager before the final victory of the 2009 UEFA Champions League of the Club against Manchester United.
Barça won only his then second classic while putting a logo of an artist with a dominant performance in the second half.
Travis Scott, May 11, 2025
Result: Barça wins 4-3
One of the wildest clashes in Barcelona-Real Madrid in history included the “Travis Scott” Jack “cacti logo in the Barça kit. The rapper also acted in Barcelona at night before the game.
Madrid took an advantage of 2-0 at the beginning of the first half before Barça rose again 4-2 in the half time. Kylian Mbappé scored the third goal of Madrid in the 70th minute, but it was too little, too late, since Barça won consecutive classics with a special logo for the first time.
