The level of physicality Caitlin Clark has faced during the first few games of her rookie season in the WNBA has been a hot topic.
“I think everyone is physical with me, they get away with things that other people probably don't,” Clark said Tuesday after the Fever lost to the Los Angeles Sparks.
Clark and the Indiana Fever hosted Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Saturday. The game marked the first time Clark and Reese would face each other in the WNBA, following their memorable clashes in college.
But the highly anticipated match was marred by a controversial hard foul.

Sky guard Chennedy Carter scored a basket late in the third quarter. He then moved to defense and began protecting Clark, who was trying to get open to receive the incoming pass.

But Clark never touched the ball, as Carter hit him on the shoulder, knocking the Fever star to the ground. The referees immediately called Carter with a foul.

Clark then went to the free throw line and spoke to ESPN once the quarter ended.
“Yeah, that's just not a basketball play,” Clark said. “But you know, I have to get over it, that's what basketball is all about at this level. I thought we were very physical, we missed some rabbits around the rim, so I hope they fall in the fourth.”
Carter was asked about the entanglement after the game, but did not give an answer.
“I'm not going to answer any questions from Cailtin Clark,” he said.
Earlier in the week, Clark faced off against Seattle Storm guard Victoria Vivian. Clark collided with Vivian moments after hitting a three-pointer and the two players began trash-talking each other.
Aaliyah Boston, the top pick in last year's WNBA Draft and Clark's teammate, finally intervened. Clark received a technical foul.
