It may not count yet, but Caitlin Clark knows what it feels like to win in the WNBA after the Indiana Fever defeated the Atlanta Dream, 83-80, in their final preseason game Thursday night before the regular season.
The Fever couldn't beat the Dallas Wings on Monday night, as Clark scored 21 points in a 79-76 loss. While she had trouble shooting in this one, Fever held off Dream to get that first winning feel of the year.
Clark shot just 4 of 12 from the field, including 2 of 9 from 3-point territory, for 12 points in 32 minutes. He also grabbed eight rebounds and showed off his passing skills, recording six assists.

On the defensive end, Clark also displayed stifling defense, blocking a Crystal Dangerfield shot with a well-timed jump and slam.
Clark may want to get some of his shots back, but he showed off his usual three-point bombs. He hit a shot from deep on the right wing to give the Fever a 68-60 lead over the Dream.

And Clark took advantage of a strong screen from teammate NaLyssa Smith to hit a step-back 3-pointer that cut into the Dream's early lead in the second quarter.
Smith was the Fever's leading scorer, making nine of 16 shots for 21 points in 30 minutes. He received a few assists from Clark, including a touch pass from Clark over defenders for a nice transition.
Aliyah Boston, the Fever's No. 1 overall pick in 2023, dropped 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while Katie Lou Samuelson dropped 11.
