Bronny James started his first Summer League game, but that was about the only bright spot.

The son of NBA all-time leading scorer LeBron James was selected by his father's Los Angeles Lakers with the 55th overall pick in last week's NBA Draft, a hotly debated topic.

On the one hand, it's historic. LeBron and Bronny are the first father-son duo to be active NBA players.

However, there has been much talk of nepotism since the team hired James' podcast co-host, JJ Redick, as its head coach.

Bronny was on the court for the Lakers on Saturday in San Francisco against the Sacramento Kings for his Summer League debut in his first chance to show what he's got.

In his first news conference as a Laker, Bronny said he didn't get “much of a chance” to “show what I can really do” in his lone season at USC, where he averaged fewer than five points per game.
