Members of the boxing community have called for this Garcia-Haney fight to be canceled due to Garcia's behavior lately, saying he is unfit to fight. And NYSAC has jurisdiction to do so.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaimán told talkSPORT.com he would “absolutely” consider intervening if the NYSAC tries to stop the world super lightweight title fight.

“We are in direct talks with the New York Commission where the fight will take place. And, you know, social media is so good and so bad at the same time,” Sulaimán said.

Sulaimán added that he spoke with García and said: “I think he will be in a position to fight, but we are addressing the situation without a doubt.”

Changing the subject, Garcia went on another rant in which he claims his “own therapist” told him he should smoke marijuana. And although he mispronounced it, he also mentioned that the therapist also suggested ayahuasca and mushrooms.

These social media posts by García have alarmed many and have led to deactivation on numerous occasions since the beginning of the month. Many boxing fans have wondered if he is in the right frame of mind.

It all started on March 3 when a post scared fans with a disturbing video claiming he was dead. After dispelling that, Garcia became unhinged over the next few days with claims that he was raped by a family member when he was 2, had evidence of aliens, was kidnapped by members of “Bohemian Grove” and forced to babysit. pornography as part of some ritual.

Garcia also predicted that an earthquake would destroy Hollywood and Las Vegas in the future, and called billionaire Elon Musk the “Antichrist.” Garcia has also disturbingly said that he would bite Haney's ear off during the fight, something Tyson infamously did to Evander Holyfield during a 1997 fight.

Garcia has said he will take a break from social media ahead of his fight with Haney, whom he has faced numerous times at the amateur level.
