Angel Reese hits Caitlin Clark in the head during a layup attempt and receives a flagrant foul in Fever-Sky rematch


The on-court rivalry between star rookies Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark continues to heat up.

Indiana Fever hosted the Chicago Sky on Sunday, marking the second time the teams have met this season. Clark drove to the basket with less than three minutes left in the third quarter.

But when Clark tried to make a layup, Reese hit her in the head.

The referees then reviewed the play and assessed it as Flagrant 1.

Reese's foul comes on the heels of a controversial hard foul in the first clash of the season between Sky and Fever.

Sky guard Chennedy Carter scored a basket late in the third quarter. He then moved to defense and began protecting Clark, who was trying to get open to receive an incoming pass.

The level of physicality Caitlin Clark that she has faced during the first few games of her rookie season in the WNBA has been a hot topic.

“I think everyone is physical with me, they get away with things that other people probably don't,” Clark said on May 28 after Fever. lost to Los Angeles Sparks.
